I too have a robe - and it has been with me from my final year of High School (1975). I wanted a robe for the long wet winter nights, and my mother knew this. So she saved her spare change (which was very little) and I got one for my birthday. It is very battered and worn and I repeatedly resist my wife's attempts at discarding it - because when I put it on it brings back many, many years of good memories.
